This song is true of most girls. We're insecure because that's the way society makes us. They have their versions of how we should look, how we should act, and even how we dress and what music we listen to. This song is saying that you don't need to follow the status quo to be popular or beautiful, you just need to be yourself. You're beautiful without the makeup and fancy clothes. You don't need it. You're perfect to him, no matter what. And that's how a good boy should treat you. He should love you no matter what you look like. You shouldn't have to put on makeup to please him, or wear a slinky dress. He should love you no matter what you look like. And just remember, you are beautiful in your own way.

It's also a perfect description of me. My boyfriend always says I don't need makeup, and I always smile at the floor when he says something like that. I hide my face behind my hair and I blush easily. I also seem not to know that I'm beatiful, although I say I'm not. I'm pretty plain as far as girls go. But my boyfriend thinks otherwise, and he is the most wonderful man in the world, so I'll take it to heart. =)
